Transitioning To Dementia Care

Because our General Residential Home (6 Great Ormes Road) and our Specialist Dementia Facility (81 Abbey Road) are located within just 100 meters of each other, we are able to offer a completely seamless, stress-free transition if a resident’s memory care needs evolve.
Our staff cross-cover and support both homes. When a resident transitions to Abbey Road, they will already know many of the faces welcoming them, drastically reducing the confusion and anxiety often triggered by a change in environment.
Because our homes are directly managed by registered nurses, we don't wait for a crisis to happen. We proactively track cognitive changes and work closely with families to discuss a gentle move to Abbey Road before a resident's current environment becomes stressful for them.
Your point of contact stays exactly the same. You will still be dealing with the same dedicated family leadership, ensuring that your loved one's established life story, personal routines, and dietary preferences are seamlessly transferred with them.

Nutrition is a point of pride for us, and we source high-quality ingredients from renowned local suppliers like Poyntons Butchers and Henllan Bread. Our kitchen team focuses on a healthy, balanced diet, and because we are a smaller home, we can easily tailor meals to meet specific nutritional requirements or personal tastes.
Are there hidden costs beyond the standard weekly fee?
We maintain a transparent fee structure. Our standard weekly fee of approximately £1,080 (for self-funded residents) covers all day-to-day essentials. The only additional costs you should expect are for personal extras such as hairdressing, chiropody, daily newspapers, and individual toiletries. We accept various funding types, including Local Authority and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC).
Is the home accessible for those with mobility issues?
Absolutely. The home is designed with a wheelchair-friendly layout and includes both lift and stairlift access to ensure all areas, including our beautiful gardens and Great Orme-view conservatory, are accessible to everyone.
